Having turned to Christ from sin grants your salvation. This is the most important choice you have ever made. Much prayer has gone into the development of Conhecendo Deus. This means that God answered the prayers prayed specifically for you. Praise the Lord you have accepted the truth of Jesus Christ and His power to save from sin. The Bible gives many promises to anyone who has chosen Christ. You are now forgiven of your sin, justified in the eyes of God, a recipient of the Holy Spirit, a partaker of the divine nature, and a new creature in Christ. Jesus said, "Ye must be born again." This is what you have experienced--the new birth. Some say the new birth came with a feeling and others say they never had one. A feeling is not required; only your faith in Christ is required. Oh, how grateful to God we are for you! You have the Lord to praise and worship for this! The Bible says that all Heaven rejoices over one sinner that repents. Those silver trumpets of glory blasted the moment you humbled your heart before the Lord and accepted your need of His cleansing for your sin. This is a day to remember and a day to celebrate!
The new birth is not only the end of your sin in the eyes of God, but it is also a beginning to a whole new life. You have been born into the family of God! You have all your old biological brothers and sisters, but now, you have entered into the family of the redeemed. Just as a baby born to its mother needs nourishment and care so do you. God calls you a "babe in Christ." You are to "desire the sincere milk of the world that ye might grow thereby" (I Pet. 2:2). This is just one reason to regularly attend a good Bible teaching and preaching church. It would be great if just such a church could be recommended to you! We would love to recommend one. In the meantime, you can grow in the Lord by talking to Him in prayer and by reading the Bible. This is essential to healthy growth.
